Craig Meuser

Craig Meuser concentrates his practice on education law and is a member of CarneyKelehan’s team of education attorneys representing local boards of education and school systems throughout the state.

Prior to joining CarneyKelehan, Mr. Meuser represented school boards in Connecticut for 15 years as a member of Chinni & Meuser LLC, following nearly eight years as an associate at Shipman & Goodwin LLP. He has litigated school-related matters in administrative hearings and in federal and state courts. He has experience negotiating labor contracts, defending against employee claims, advising school leaders on student accommodation and student discipline, residency and transportation-related matters, litigating special education disputes, and handling bidding, procurement, and contracts issues. As an experienced and respected legal counselor, he has advised education clients on matters of policy and, most recently, helped guide Connecticut school districts through the many issues posed by the pandemic.

Before earning his law degree, summa cum laude, from Quinnipiac University, Mr. Meuser taught high school social studies for eight years in both public and private school settings in Connecticut. Mr. Meuser earned his Bachelor of Arts in history from Dartmouth College and his Master of Education in secondary education from the University of Bridgeport.
