Fulton Jeffers is of counsel to Carney, Kelehan, Bresler, Bennett & Scherr and a member of the firm’s education and business and commercial law practices.
Mr. Jeffers has 44 years of experience representing boards of education including the Wicomico County and Somerset County boards of education as well as the Worcester County Superintendent of Schools and the Talbot County Board of Education Ethics Panel.
Mr. Jeffers has presented legal programs on school law for the Maryland Institute for Continuing Professional Education of Lawyers, and has served as President of the Maryland Local School Board Attorneys Association.
A long-time resident of Salisbury, Md., Mr. Jeffers received the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce Award for outstanding community service and contribution to the advancement of the Salisbury-Wicomico Area. Returning to live in Salisbury after law school, he taught mathematics in the Wicomico County Public School System for two years. He was elected State’s Attorney for Wicomico County in 1970 and served one term, choosing not to run for re-election. He also opened his own law firm, Fulton P. Jeffers, PA, and now practices with CarneyKelehan as of counsel.
