Tom Meachum has vast Maryland government legal experience, having previously served in both the Office of the Attorney General and the Howard County Office of Law. His current practice emphasizes zoning and development law, general real estate law, employment law, estate administration and probate work as well as alcohol beverage licensing.
Mr. Meachum advises his real estate clients in matters that include rezoning, special exceptions, conditional uses, waiver applications, development, variances, real estate contracts, title issues and covenants. He assists restaurants, stores and taverns in obtaining licenses for the sale of alcohol as well as provides general counsel to companies and individual employees on employment matters. Mr. Meachum is experienced in litigation concerning each of these matters.
He practices throughout central Maryland, including Howard County and Carroll County, where he is the managing partner of the Westminster office.
Mr. Meachum was twice appointed to the Howard County Charter Review Commission by the Howard County Council.
He is a receipient of the “Leadership in Law” award by The Daily Record, an award created in 2001 to draw attention to the many Maryland legal professionals – lawyers and judges – whose dedication to their occupation and to their communities deserves particular recognition.
