Amanda Sklar is an attorney practicing in all areas of the firm. Ms. Sklar brings experience as a judicial law clerk, legal and judicial intern and legal assistant.
Prior to joining CarneyKelehan, Ms. Sklar served as a judicial law clerk for Judge Lara C. Weathersbee of the Circuit Court of Howard County, where she researched and assisted drafting decisions involving breach of contract claims, family law matters, record appeals and exceptions.
Previously, Ms. Sklar served as a legal intern for the general counsel of the National Endowment for the Arts. She was a judicial intern for the New York County Supreme Court and a legal intern for the general counsel of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. Ms. Sklar started her career as a paralegal for Desmarais LLP, a patent litigation law firm in New York City.
A member of the Maryland State Bar Association, Ms. Sklar earned her law degree from the American University Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C. She holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Maryland, College Park.
